At the end of the season, Tottenham Hotspur is anticipated to enter the competition for Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher.

According to a story in The Irish Independent, Tottenham is interested in Kelleher.

The 24-year-old is still contracted to Liverpool until 2026 but allegedly wants to go out and play regular first-team football.

That just isn’t going to happen at Liverpool with Alisson in goal, so Kelleher is keen to make a move away.

Few really expected Tottenham to be in this transfer race though, even with Hugo Lloris looking like a shadow of his former self.

Tottenham have been linked with a number of goalkeepers, but almost all of them have more first-team experience than Kelleher.

The Ireland international has only ever played four times in the Premier League and only 17 times in other competitions for Liverpool.

Tottenham need a quality stopper for years to come and putting their faith in Kelleher would be an enormous surprise this summer.

Moving to Celtic seems unlikely for Caoimhin Kelleher
According to the report, Kelleher is a target for both Brentford and Brighton and Hove Albion this summer.

Kelleher would require a fee of about £20 million to be signed, although Liverpool appears willing to move him this summer.

Around £5 million is a steep price to pay for one Premier League appearance.

Even if Tottenham values Kelleher, it just doesn’t seem likely that they will take such a risk.

In light of recent rumors regarding a move to Parkhead, the price tag would surely take Celtic out of the running.

Celtic were reportedly in the running to sign Kelleher this summer, according to a March report from The Transfer Room.

Ange Postecoglou can’t afford £20 million for the Irishman, therefore perhaps Celtic wanted to sign him to a loan agreement.

Joe Hart, another fairly reliable goalkeeper for Celtic, makes a summer transfer for Kelleher appear highly improbable at this point.

Jurgen Klopp praised Kelleher as “outstanding,” so he should have a great future, but it’s unclear if it will be with Tottenham.
