Rangers have been linked with a move for Queens Park Rangers striker Lyndon Dykes but he could be on his way to Millwall.
Lyndon Dykes has been the subject of a seven-figure bid from Millwall amid links to Rangers.
That is according to Sky Sports, who claim that Millwall have now put a bid on the table for Dykes.
It’s stated that the Lions have offered a deal which could rise all the way up to £2million with add-ons.
This is no huge surprise; Millwall wanted to sign Dykes in January and have now made their move this summer.
QPR are allegedly willing to sell at the right price, giving Millwall real hope of a deal.
Dykes has been linked with Rangers and if Michael Beale wants a reunion, he will have to move quickly.
Rangers move may not happen for Lyndon Dykes
The Mirror’s Darren Witcoop reported in April that Dykes was a ‘top target’ for Rangers this summer.
Gers boss Beale coached Dykes at QPR and a reunion was believed to be on the Rangers manager’s wish list.
The rumours have dried up a little since then despite Rangers being linked with striker after striker in recent weeks.
Cyriel Dessers, Sam Lammers, Ike Ugbo – they have all been mentioned for a move to Rangers with Beale desperate for a new striker.
Dykes doesn’t appear to be in that conversation and a return to Scotland doesn’t seem to be on the cards.
The 27-year-old caused problems during his time with Livingston, earning himself a 2020 move to QPR.
Dykes has now hit 28 goals in 114 games for QPR, which is just about one goal in every four games.
Whilst Dykes offers a different option thanks to his physicality and aerial ability, we really can’t see this move happening – especially whilst Antonio Colak is still at the club.
Millwall have made their move and Rangers may not choose to battle them over this £2million deal.
