Arsenal talent Joel Ideho is now expected to join up with Burnley this pre-season as he prepares to leave North London.
Burnley are showing a real interest in Joel Ideho with the young winger expected to leave Arsenal this summer.
That is according to The Sun’s Alan Nixon, who claims that Burnley are planning to take a close look at Ideho this summer.
It’s stated that Arsenal have decided to let Ideho leave on a free transfer this summer with his contract coming to an end.
Ideho suffered injury problems at Arsenal and the Gunners are now ready to let him leave the club.
The report claims that Burnley want Ideho for their Under-21 side, seemingly seeing some potential for the future in Ideho.
Vincent Kompany may now invite Ideho for pre-season training, possibly giving him a trial opportunity with the Clarets.
That may well appeal to Ideho, who will surely fancy another Premier League opportunity.
Joel Ideho’s move to Arsenal sadly hasn’t worked out
Ideho joined Arsenal back in 2020 as he decided to leave Ajax.
Ideho had only joined Ajax from Willen II earlier in 2020 but made the somewhat controversial choice to leave for Arsenal.
Agent Bart van Meel certainly wasn’t impressed with the decision and spoke to Ajax Showtime about the move.
Van Meel claimed that an unknown agent interfered and convinced Ideho to ditch Ajax just months after joining.
Van Meel’s stance was that Ideho should have stayed at Ajax, with the Amsterdam giants also believed he needed more time in Amsterdam.
Ideho was convinced by Arsenal though and after nearly three years in North London, it’s fair to say the move hasn’t worked.
The 19-year-old has been in Arsenal first-team training a few times now but has never made his senior debut for the Gunners.
Ideho has turned out 37 times for the Arsenal Under-21’s in total, bagging three goals and four assists.
Ideho – described as skilful on Arsenal’s official website – clearly has talent but Arsenal seem ready to move on.
Maybe staying at Ajax could have been better for him, but Burnley will seemingly offer Ideho another chance to fulfil his potential.
