Dons academy duo pen professional deals

AFC Wimbledon academy duo Morgan Williams and Paris Lock have both penned professional deals with the club.

Williams, 18, made his professional debut for the club in the final game of the 2022-23 season when he came on as a late substitute in the 1-0 defeat at Grimsby.

Welsh U19 international Williams has spells on loan at Corinthian-Casuals and Eastbourne Borough.

Young forward Lock, 18, featured in both FA Youth Cup games this season, scoring in the 1-0 win over Leyton Orient.

Academy manager Michael Hamilton told the club: You’ve got two very different journeys here.

“Morgan has been with us from a very early age. He joined us as part of the pre-academy, before joining the academy formally as an under-nine.

“He’s been here all the way through. When he made his first-team debut at the end of last season it was a captivating moment, because of the journey he’s been on. It’s just the start of what’s going to happen.

“Paris joined us as an U12.

“He’s an exciting player that can play off either the left or right side. His skill is his output. He always contributes with goals and creating chances.

“There’s no doubt in my mind that once the fans get to know him a little bit more, they’ll be really excited by what he can bring.”

Return to the tribe! Bringing veterans together

We are pleased to announce that our AFC Wimbledon Foundation will be hosting Armed Forces & Veterans Breakfast Clubs as we look to bring people together.

Launching on Monday 3 July, we will be facilitating veterans and serving armed forces personnel, allowing them to meet face-to-face in a relaxed, safe and social environment. This will help to engage a total of 4,130 veterans in Wandsworth and a further 2,888 in Merton.

Attendees will enjoy breakfast and banter, which will in turn help to combat loneliness and allow veterans to ‘return to the tribe’.

Further details are below:

  • Hosted every Monday
  • 10:30am – 12pm
  • £3 per person for breakfast (free celebratory breakfast for all attendees of first club meeting).
  • Location: AFC Wimbledon, Cherry Red Records Stadium, Plough Lane, London, SW17 0NR
