Barnsley midfielder Callum Styles is one of the players part of a double swoop Championship club Watford are set to make, as they also eye a move for Cho Gue-sung, as reported by The Athletic.
Adam Leventhal of The Athletic reports that negotiations are underway for both players, with Styles departing from Barnsley and Gue-sung from Jeonbuk Motors.
Both players have international experience, while a fee has not been agreed upon between the clubs for Hungary international Styles, Watford have begun discussions with Jeonbuk over payment structures for the South Korean international, who scored during the World Cup last year in Qatar.
Personal terms are already thought to have been discussed between the player and the Hertfordshire club and it is believed they will not be an issue, as the forward looks to make the move to England.
Guessing has played his entire club career in South Korea so far and at just 25 years old, still has years ahead of him and a move to England could be the next step. His debut season as a professional came for FC Anyang, which saw him score 14 goals for the club and he made the switch to Jeonbuk.
Last year’s World Cup saw the forward score twice against Ghana in the tournament’s group stages, adding to his record at international level, bringing it to six goals in 23 outings for his nation.
Styles meanwhile is familiar with Watford manager Ismael, a key part of the Barnsley side he managed and took to the Championship playoffs in 2021. His versatility saw him deployed as a left wing-back for the Tykes and he scored five times in 50 matches.
The midfielder is no stranger to the Championship though, following Barnsley’s relegation to League One, Styles would depart Oakwell and spent last season on loan with second-tier side Millwall. The midfielder with 10 caps for Hungary had no option to buy in that deal and will return to the club with two years remaining on his contract.
Former West Bromwich Albion manager Valarien Ismael is thought to be keen on the idea of reuniting with Styles and remains in talks with Barnsley to bring the player to the Championship once again.

Styles has enjoyed a good season with Millwall, with the side narrowly missing out on the playoffs on the final day. After a strong season, he will be looking to remain in the Championship with the Tykes missing out on promotion themselves last season. Barnsley face a battle to keep a hold of their midfielder, who could push for a move to the second division once again.
