The 24-year-old who arrived at Loftus Road in 2021 will be aiming for a strong pre-season as he looks to consolidate himself in Gareth Ainsworth’s plans for the forthcoming year.

Dozzell was speaking at QPR’s new training complex, as the Super Hoops continue to prepare themselves for the upcoming 2023/24 Sky Bet Championship season.

Last year was a tough one for everyone involved but now we have a chance to reset

“It’s really good to be back,” Dozzell told www.qpr.co.uk “It’s been really enjoyable so far, everyone has been working so hard and the lads are all in good spirits.

“Obviously being in the new building is unreal, it’s Premier League standard and hopefully that will raise everyone’s game which can only make us better as a side.

“Last year was disappointing for everyone but obviously personally it was stop-start, it wasn’t really a successful season for anyone here so we want to put that right – starting now.

“It is really enjoyable under Gareth (Ainsworth), he brings really positive energy, which is good for everyone. You come to work every day and you want to be positive and happy, so yeah it’s been great working with him and I can’t wait to see what the season brings.”

The R’s will be heading to Austria next week as part of preparations for the 2023/24 campaign, with clashes against Slavia Prague and Vorwarts Steyr awaiting Rangers and Dozzell can’t wait.

The former Ipswich Town youngster will be looking to make a claim for the central midfield position and improve on what was a disappointing season for Rangers last time out.

He added: “Austria is going to be hard work, we are there for 10 days but it’s going to be really good and can really help me go into the season strong.

“Personally I am looking to get in the team week in, week out next year and helping get the team as high up the table as possible

“Last year was a tough one for everyone involved, players, staff and of course the fans, but now we have a chance to reset, we have new training facilities so the only way is up and hopefully this season will be a successful one.”
