Swans keen on loan deal for player Jack Grealish describes as ‘Unbelievable’
Twenty Five year old Aston Villa forward Keinan Davis, who has been linked with Swansea City on numerous occasions in recent seasons seems to have resurfaced again this summer. We understand that inquires by the Swans as far back as 2019 and again in 2021 proved unsuccessful, however this time under Paul Watson’s guidance things could end more favourably.
It’s no secret the Swans have long been an admirer of Keinan Davis so links this summer are of no surprise. Davies is entering the last year of his Villa contract, and has spent the last eighteen months pretty much out on loan. Initially he had a successful spell at Nottingham Forest during their promotion season back to the Premier League, and then last season was at Watford. When at Forest Davis displayed the pace and strength he possesses in his game scoring five goals in fifteen appearances. Jack Grealish who was at Villa with Keinan said of him, “It should a million per cent be Keinan Davis, he was the strongest player by far at Villa. He’s so, so strong. He’s one of the best hold up players I’ve actually played with and that includes the likes of Christian Benteke. He is unbelievable. The only thing that he needs to add to his game is his end product and he knows that he needs to improve on that. But I can’t give him enough credit for how good he is just in the game, holding the ball up, his dribbling for a big fellow.”
That was again seen at Watford last season, and as per Grealish’s words he did fail to convert the chances he had to an extent, and returned just seven goals in thirty four games. He played against the Swans for Watford in their 4-0 drubbing in west Wales just before new year last December. However, in a mobile Watford side he displayed superb pace at times creating opportunities for team mates and his strength seems to have improved even more. As a ‘danger man’ which is what then Watford manager Slaven Bilić described him as – it could be Keinan will be seen as the threat and line of supply for Swansea as opposed to the answer to any goalscoring conundrum.
At 191 cms Keinan does possess the height for sure.
Having played seventy three games for Villa before his loan moves, and scoring just three goals it could be that Keinan Davis offers more than just goals as the Swans go in search of that missing element from last season – pace. For us here at the Indy he’s a big yes, with attributes like he has he can add danger and speed to the squad Michael Duff is assembling this coming season. And that’s definitely required within this Swansea City squad.
