Last season Kabore enjoyed a spell on loan in France with Marseille, where he played 29 times for the club and scored his first senior goal.

Now, Luton have earmarked Kabore as a potential signing as they look to bolster their squad ahead of their first-ever Premier League campaign.

Manchester City defender Issa Kabore could be set for a loan move to Luton for next season

Kabore would join Mads Andersen, Tahith Chong and Chiedozie Ogbene, who have all moved to Kenilworth Road so far this summer.

While City could see one right-back leave the club, another could be set for a move to the Etihad in Bayern Munich’s Benjamin Pavard.

The Germans have already targeted City’s Kyle Walker, with the player said to be keen on a move to the Bundesliga champions, and Pavard tops the shortlist as a replacement for the England international.

Pavard, who has 49 caps for his country and is best remembered for his goal of the tournament against Argentina at the 2018 World Cup, moved to Bayern in 2019 and has played over 160 games for the club.

The 27-year-old is entering the final year of his contract and there have been no indications that he will extend his stay.

Bayern value him at around £27m and he would become City’s second signing of the summer following the arrival of Mateo Kovacic from Chelsea.

City have also been linked with PSG’s Achraf Hakimi as another possible alternative to replace Walker if he makes the move to Germany.
