Major Leeds United transfer boost as PL club look beyond 21-y/o for different transfer agreement – View

Luton Town are unlikely to be pursuing Leeds United’s Cody Drameh any further this summer as they seal the signing of Manchester City’s Issa Kabore.

The Whites are fighting hard to convince a number of key players that they are right to stay put this summer at Elland Road, despite the club’s relegation from the Premier League.

Loanees from last season need to be called upon this time around, picking up the pieces from the departures that have already been confirmed.

Cody Drameh to Luton?

Following a brilliant loan spell with Luton Town last season, there was plenty of expectation that Rob Edwards would be keen to bring Cody Drameh back to Kenilworth Road on a permanent basis for their Premier League journey.

That was backed up by reports from Fabrizio Romano on the matter, claiming the Hatters held interest in signing the 21-year-old.

Drameh currently has one year left on his contract after joining from Fulham back in the summer of 2020, and was the only player to play a full 90 minutes in Leeds’ first friendly of the summer.

Should Drameh be first-choice right-back?

Transfer boost for Leeds

Luton’s interest in signing the defender looks to have vanished now, though, with The Telegraph’s Mike McGrath revealing that Edwards’ side are closing in on a different signing.

He reveals that the Hatters are set to sign Manchester City’s 22-year-old right-back Issa Kabore, who has spent the last two seasons on loan in France, most recently with Marseille:

Having reached this agreement with Kabore, a deal to bring in Drameh looks to no longer be on the cards for Luton.
