BREAKING NEWS: Finley Craske Agrees To Join United

TUAFC is pleased to announce that former Plymouth Argyle player Finley Craske has agreed a deal to join the Club for 2023/24 following a successful trial at Plainmoor.

Wadebridge-born Craske, 20, arrived at United having risen through the ranks at Argyle, where he made 9 appearances in all competitions.

Equally impressive in a number of defensive or midfield positions, Finley also boasts senior experience gained during loan spells at Yeovil Town, Plymouth Parkway and Truro City, where he helped the White Tigers secure promotion to National League South level  last term.

Having impressed all at Plainmoor with an excellent performance against his old Club in the 1-1 draw against The Pilgrims on Tuesday evening, Gulls boss Gary Johnson spoke of his delight at adding Finley to an already-impressive looking Torquay squad, which begin their 2023/24 campaign on August 5th.

“Fin is a super athlete, and can play in several positions due to his footballing prowess and competitiveness,” said the Gaffer.

“Fin had a super debut game at Plainmoor against Plymouth on Tuesday, and I’m delighted he’s chose us to enjoy his football.”

Having agreed a deal to become a full-fledged Gulls player, Finley will be looking to play his part in United’s latest pre-season friendly against Exeter City at Plainmoor on Saturday (22/07/23 3pm KO), with ticketing details available HERE.

This move is subject to FA & National League approval.

Luke Jephcott: St Johnstone sign former Plymouth Argyle striker on two-year deal

Striker Luke Jephcott is “here to score goals” after joining St Johnstone on a two-year contract.

Jephcott, 23, becomes Steven MacLean’s second signing this summer after a five-year spell with Plymouth Argyle.

Capped by Wales at Under-21 and U19 level, he spent last season on loan to Swindon Town, scoring seven goals in 33 games.

“I’m delighted to be here and ready to get to work,” Jephcott said after becoming Saints’ second summer signing.

“It’s going to be a different challenge, but it’s one I’m really looking forward to. It will be a really good test for me.

“I’m a player who loves to be in and around the box. Inside the penalty area, I’ll score goals but can also drop a bit deeper to help link up play.”
