According to MARCA, David Soria continues to attract interest from Premier League sides, with at least two teams vying for his signature. Crystal Palace maintain a strong position in the chase, as they could see him as a replacement for Vicente Guaita.

David Soria is among the few Premier League sides on the list. The 30-year-old Spanish goalkeeper has earned a decent reputation while at Getafe. But there are chances he could make the move to England if the right opportunity arrives.

Getafe are hoping to recoup €10 million in exchange for the keeper but may accept a lower fee, between €5-6 million for the 30-year-old keeper. Soria’s current market value, as per Transfermarkt, stands at €8 million, although his contractual information is unavailable.

There was interest from Real Madrid. But the trail has gone cold in the last month or so. Hence, the likelihood of Soria moving to the Premier League remains high. Nottingham Forest are one of the clubs keen on the keeper, as there is an evolving situation between the sticks.

There were mentions of Jose Sa becoming a new option. But it appears like Dean Henderson is closing in on re-joining Steve Cooper’s side. Meanwhile, after a successful loan spell, Keylor Navas may have returned to PSG, but the Parisians are eager to replace him. The French giants also have Soria in their sights as a backup to Gianluigi Donnarumma.

However, in terms of playing regularly, Crystal Palace are the ideal option for the 30-year-old Spanish goalkeeper. He could replace compatriot Vicente Guaita between the sticks, and incidentally, Getafe are eying the experienced keeper to replace Soria.

Crystal Palace will look to negotiate a proper fee for Soria once they advance in their pursuit of the Spanish stopper. Ideally, they would pay around €5-6 million and lower if Guaita goes the other way. If the 30-year-old arrives, he must compete with Sam Johnstone, who signed a long-term deal at the club.

Overall, Soria may appear like a decent target to replace Guaita if the latter leaves. The Getafe star remains a financially viable option and brings plenty of experience to this Palace side, which can then focus on strengthening other areas of their squad.

Soria: A Coveted Asset

There’s no denying the allure of David Soria. Previously eyed by footballing giants Real Madrid, Soria has been a cornerstone of José Bordalás’ tactical framework. Often heralded as one of the standout players in Getafe’s recent campaigns, his significance can’t be underestimated.

While Getafe’s valuation leans towards the 10 million euro mark, negotiations between the two parties will surely be intense. Adding to the narrative, Getafe has already bolstered their goalkeeping ranks with the summer signing of Daniel Fuzato, on loan from Ibiza. If Soria does make the leap to English football, Vicente Guaita of Crystal Palace has been rumoured to potentially be in Getafe’s sights as a replacement.

For now, David Soria remains committed to Getafe’s cause. Speaking after a victory against Leganés, he stated:

“THE RESULT RIGHT NOW IS THE LEAST OF IT, WE’RE PICKING UP PHYSICAL AND TACTICAL SENSATIONS. THE MAIN THING IS TO KEEP GROWING AT ALL LEVELS.”

He further emphasised the rigours of their current training regime and the need for consistent growth, especially leading up to their clash against Barça.

Nottingham Forest’s interest in David Soria signifies their ambitions in the Premier League. With the history and weight the club carries, adding a player of Soria’s calibre could prove to be a masterstroke. The next few weeks will be crucial, as fans and pundits alike wait to see if Forest or Crystal Palace can secure their coveted target.
