Wolves goalkeeping coach Tony Roberts has left Old Gold and has attracted attention from Italy.
The ex-Wolves coach joined the club in July 2021 but has now departed as he entered his third year at the club.
Roberts remains the goalkeeping coach of Wales however has began seeking pastures new on the continent ahead of the new season.
Roberts has worked for illustrious managers and clubs all his career, most notably under Arsène Wenger at Arsenal from 2011 to 2015.
He also worked at Birmingham, Swansea, QPR and Hebei FC in China.
Roberts is hugely experienced and has been around the goalkeeping scene for years, meaning Europes elite have come calling.
Roberts attracting Milan interest
According to a report by Express and Star, Roberts has now left Wolves having already said his goodbyes.
The report goes on to add that the Welshman is also in talks no with Serie A giants AC Milan.
Milan themselves have recently lost two goalkeeping coaches and are keen to add Roberts to ensure they aren’t short.
Roberts had been working with Jose Sa since his arrival to the Molineux and he is one who will be sad to see him go.
What now for Wolves
It isn’t the end of the world losing Roberts with so many talented goalkeeping coaches ranging across the country.
This however is a problem that needs to be rectified immediately given Roberts has opened a gap which if left un-attended, could impact Julen Lopetegui‘s season.
Let’s hope he drafts in a replacement as soon as possible to avoid the impact it could have.
