Getting a defensive midfielder signing over the line before the transfer window closes will be absolutely pivotal for Hammers boss David Moyes.

In fact, the Scot should be looking to get it done before the new season begins in two weeks time, and it seems as though he has a great opportunity to do just that…

The Athletic reckon that the American will be allowed to leave Elland Road if any club makes a £20 million offer for him.

The Leeds man is a good footballer, and £20 million for the 24-year-old sounds like great value to me.

I think that Adams would be a very solid addition to our squad, but let’s be honest here – he’s not fit to lace Declan Rice’s boots.

So if the 36-capped United States international is the only central midfielder who Moyes signs this summer, then I think it quite simply won’t be good enough.

However, if Adams is brought in alongside an elite box-to-box midfielder – someone like Ibrahim Sangare, then I think we will be in great shape heading into the new season.

David Moyes signing Tyler Adams for just £20 million should be a no-brainer for the West Ham boss as far as I’m concerned.

According to reports, Aston Villa target Tyler Adams ‘wants to quit’ Leeds United this summer and there is a ‘relegation clause’ in his contract.

Leeds United paid around £20m to sign the USA international from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig last summer.

The West Yorkshire side endured a nightmare season in 2022/23 as they suffered relegation from the Premier League but Adams was one of their standout performers.
