Fabrizio Romano Reveals Liverpool Are Holding ‘Direct Contacts’ With ‘Exceptional’ Player Right Now
Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Liverpool’s search for another midfielder. Ryan Gravenberch has been linked with the Merseyside outfit and, according to the journalist, the club is still on the player’s radar despite Bayern Munich’s stance.
Liverpool Eyeing Potential Last-Minute Move for Gravenberch
The Reds Are in Contact With the Player’s Entourage
Romano reported through his YouTube channel that Liverpool are in contact with Gravenberch’s agents to potentially make a move in the final days of the transfer window.
Bayern had previously made it clear that their midfielder is not for sale. However, Liverpool, as well as Manchester United, have remained in contact with the player’s side over a potential transfer. The move is still dependent heavily on the Bavarian side and if they can be lured into selling their youngster with a lucrative offer.

The Italian said in his video: “There is a possibility for Ryan Gravenberch to move in the final days. Bayern always said the player is not for sale but on the player’s side, the agents had contacts with Manchester United and Liverpool. Discussion is going on between Gravenberch’s side and Liverpool and Manchester United over a potential last-minute move.”
Florian Plettenberg, the reliable Munich-based journalist, also reported that Liverpool can really push for the player in the last days of the transfer window. The Ajax Youth Academy product is currently the fourth choice in the midfield for Thomas Tuchel.
The player is unhappy with his situation with the Bundesliga champions as he wants to play regularly. This could act as a catalyst for Jurgen Klopp’s side to trigger a move as the former Ajax man will potentially be a regular feature and an integral part of their midfield.

What Will Gravenberch Add to Liverpool’s Midfield?
Standing at a towering height of 6’2″, the Dutch midfielder will provide physical robustness to the Anfield side’s midfield, which they are currently lacking. The likes of Thiago, Dominik Szoboszlai and Curtis Jones are all technical players not known for their physical robustness. The “exceptional” youngster usually plays as a central midfielder in a double pivot setup, as a box-to-box midfielder.

His lanky frame does not adversely affect his agility, the Netherlands international has deceptively quick feet and uses his technical ability to get out of tight spaces. He is very good at progressing the ball up the pitch. The 21-year-old tends to receive the ball in deep areas before using his long strides or passing range to move the ball upfield.
