The Tigers are in the thick of a hectic final few days of the summer transfer window

Hull City will see hugely respected members of their playing squad leave the club this week as we edge closer to the transfer window closing on Friday evening, and it’s something Liam Rosenior admits never gets any easier.

Ryan Longman and Brandon Fleming are two players who will likely leave the club on a temporary basis while Ryan Woods made a move to Bristol Rovers before their weekend defeat at home to Wycombe Wanderers in League One, and others will almost certainly go elsewhere in search of regular football, something they’re unlikely to get under Rosenior.

City expect to bring in as many as five new players before the 11pm deadline and naturally, with fresh talent coming in, those existing members will be moved on. Boss Rosenior admits none of his squad wants to leave which makes it all the more difficult for him to have such tough conversations with those he wants to move out.

“That’s the thing, they do (want to be here),” Rosenior told Hull Live. “They’re really good lads, all of them. Ryan Woods, Longy, Brandon, they’re great lads, they want to be here, the want to make an effect on the team.

“There’s not a player in the squad that wants to leave and I think that says everything for what Acun (Ilicali) has created, it says a lot for the culture that we’ve created as coaches that a lot of the players want to be successful here.

“It’s so hard, honestly, they’re the hardest conversations. How I work is that I’ll never hide, I’ll always tell the truth to their face and it’s difficult because I know I’ve got a really motivated group of players who believe they can be successful.”
