SIGNED | Louisha Doran and Charlotte Bolland join Wrexham AFC Women ahead of 2023/24 season
Duo join Steve Dale’s side ahead of new season
Wrexham AFC Women are pleased to announce the signings of Charlotte Bolland and Louisha Doran ahead of the Club’s opening Genero Adran Premier fixture against Swansea City.
The pair add to the current group of players at Wrexham who gained promotion to the Genero Adran Premier and both players have gained a plethora of experience over the course of their respective playing careers so far.
Doran, 26, joins from Llandudno Ladies and has previously played in the Genero Adran Premier, while also spending time in the English system.
Bolland, 22, joins from Tranmere Rovers and has had experience with Arsenal’s U21 side previously alongside spending time with Watford, Bolton and Stoke City.
Speaking about the Club’s new additions, the manager said: “Charlie (Charlotte) has impressed us during her time with the club over pre-season and it gives us the security of having another goalkeeper in the squad.
“We feel that her experience from previous clubs will add plenty of competition for Del (Morgan) to earn the number one shirt within the team. She has a great attitude towards improving her game and has settled into the group nicely.
“Louisha is a player that we have kept an eye on over the past season. She had a good season with Llandudno and when we knew she was interested in Wrexham we wanted to make it work.
“Her experience will complement the team and she has shown her potential in the short period of time she’s been with the squad. She will bring quality and leadership to the group, and we’re excited to see her contribute to our debut season in the Genero Adran Premier.”
Ticket details and fixture information for Wrexham’s opening match of the season, against Swansea City on September 17, will be released in due course.

Boost for Stephen Kenny as James McClean returns to Wrexham bench tonight after knee injury
Ireland boss Stephen Kenny looks set to include centurion James McClean in his squad this Thursday after the winger returned to Wrexham’s bench this evening having overcome a recent knee injury.
The 34-year-old left Wigan for the Hollywood-backed club earlier this month and made his debut against Wimbledon on August 12, but an injury picked up in the closing stages of that first appearance has ruled him out of their last three league games.
Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson had said a fortnight ago that he expected McClean to be sidelined for “a couple of weeks”, but the Derry native has now been deemed fit enough to return to the bench for his side’s League Cup second round tie at home to Bradford this evening.
The return is also good news for Kenny ahead of next month’s massive Euro 2024 qualifying double header away to France and at home to the Netherlands, with the Ireland boss announcing his squad at FAI HQ this Thursday.
