Transfer Latest – Albian Ajeti has signed for Gaziantep FK, according to Turkish sources
Albian Ajeti looks to have finally ended his Parkhead nightmare if sources in Turkey are to be believed. The Swiss-Albanian forward has never really hit the heights in a Celtic shirt since his £5 million move from London to Glasgow in the summer of 2020 and now he looks set to be off the books at Celtic Park for good.
As we head towards the closing of the window tomorrow night, the Hoops are working hard behind the scenes to being in the reinforcements the team badly needs for another tilt at European football and domestic action. Our main rivals going out of the UEFA Champions League Play-off to PSV Eindhoven last night was another welcome bonus and means we have the financial advantage to really push on.
However, Ajeti and some of his cohorts also needed to be removed from the wage bill in Paradise as they are just stagnant salaries which hamper us in the market place too. The likes of Ismaila Soro and James McCarthy will need to be shifted too so the squad size can be reduced and not suffer from bloating. This will also be seen as a priority for the club whilst they are also busy trying to bring in that additional quality the manager craves.
Updates from Turkey claim that Ajeti has now signed on the dotted line with Gaziantep FK and should be officially unveiled soon. Transfer Haberleri have posted on social media that “Gaziantep FK has signed with Albian Ajeti”. It’s more good news as Ajeti was thought to be on a meaty contact at the Scottish Premiership Champions and now he won’t need paid for the last year of his contract.
