Adana Demirspor have now reached an agreement with Nottingham Forest striker Emmanuel Dennis. The Reds are now locked in discussions with the Turkish outfit to get a deal over the line.

According to Sports Digitale, the player has agreed to sign for the top-flight outfit this summer. He is keen to leave the City Ground having spent all season training and playing friendlies with the B-Team.

Dennis signed for Forest in the summer of 2022 for a fee in the region of £15 million. The player joined from Watford where he had scored 10 goals in his maiden Premier League campaign.

Regular first-team action proved hard to come by for Dennis. Although he made 25 appearances in total, only six of those came in the starting eleven, with the 25-year-old scoring two goals.

Demirspor will be hoping that Dennis can give them a little bit of a lift. They’ve won one and drawn two of their first three matches and sit 10th in the Super Lig table.

The transfer window in Turkey closes on Friday. As a result, Forest will hope that they can agree on a deal with Adana pretty quickly to allow Dennis plenty of time to complete the deal.

When Dennis was at Watford he earned praise from Michael Owen. He called him ‘excellent’ for his efforts during a clash with Aston Villa and he raved about him.

This looks like a move that makes sense for all parties now. Dennis has seemingly got no future at Forest and will be desperate to go somewhere and play regular first-team football.

It just hasn’t worked from the outset for the striker. He’s never really fit naturally into the style of football that Steve Cooper wants to play and the head coach just hasn’t fancied him at all.

The Reds will welcome the chance to get some of the £42,000-a-week that Dennis earns away from the wage bill. Adana won’t be paying it all but at this stage, not having him around the club makes a lot of sense.
