The Tigers will host their first of two home games in a row this evening against the defeated play-off finalists from last season.

Liam Rosenior, the manager of Hull City, has paid tribute to Mark Robins, who played a key role in the Tigers’ victory over Leicester City prior to the international break. The two sides will face each other at the MKM Stadium on Friday night in the first match back in the Championship after the international break. Leicester, on the other hand, defeated Coventry City 1-0 in their most recent game, with Liam Delap’s first-half goal ending their six-match winning streak.

Rosenior attribute this to Robins, following Coventry’s narrow defeat at the capital’s King Power Stadium at the start of the season, and the manner in which the Sky Blues conducted themselves against Leicester City. Coventry are currently sitting in 14th place in the league, four points behind Rosenior’s team, however, last Saturday’s M69 derby defeat was their only setback to date, with the head coach of the Tigers indicating that their points return has been below par.

Really, really good. They’ve got nowhere near the points total they should have had.” Rosenior told Hull Live ahead of the game. “I’ve got to give the credit because when I watched them away at Leicester, they gave me a lot of ideas to address the game against Leicester – I think they deserved to win that game. I think they were unfortunate to draw with Watford, they had a really good result at home Middlesbrough.

“I really like Mark Robins, I think he’s an outstanding first and foremost and a top, top manager. Obviously, they fell a hurdle short last season and they’ve had to replace and reinvest in terms of losing Viktor Gykores, losing Gus Hamer, very, very good players.

“From Mark’s point of view, because he’s got a clear way of playing he can identify the players he wants to come in and I think they’ve got nowhere near the points total they should have, their performances deserve more.”
