New contracts for Bournemouth duo

MERCAT: L'oferta del València per Billing

Philip Billing has signed a new and improved contract with AFC Bournemouth while Dominic Solanke has signed an improved contract with the club in recent weeks at Dean Court.

The duo have been Bournemouth’s main attack since the club’s return to the top flight, scoring 15 goals and providing 9 assists, with Solanke scoring 8 goals and providing 8 assists and Philip scoring 7 goals and providing 1 assist so far this season. Under previous manager Scott Parker, Philip’s role has been more advanced, while under new manager Gary O’Neil, his role has been more defensive and he has covered more ground in the middle of the park.

This may have been the reason for Philip not scoring a goal or providing an assist in the first half of the season, but his performances have not been underestimated and he has recently signed a new 4-year contract with the south coast club.

“I’m really pleased to be staying here for another four years.

“I’ve loved my time here and the project is really exciting, the players we have bought in and the training ground developments are great things for the club.

“I want to build on last season, score more goals, add more performances to help this club establish itself in the Premier League.”

Solanke followed Philip in also penning a new four-year deal, with an announcement made on his 26th birthday, during the same week as he also became a father.

Solanke has enjoyed some early-season form, scoring against both West Ham United and Brentford, whilst claiming an assist against Liverpool.

Amazing news, I was resigned to losing him at the end of the season, especially with the weird grumbling on social media. – To join the conversation, click here.

Dom is now approaching the peak years of his career. I for one hope he spends those years at DC. He sounded happy enough at that prospect in his interview, and if he does realise his potential I also hope he gets back into the England team. – To join the conversation, click here.
