Luis Palma Celtic ‘I dreamed it’ debut verdict as Liel Abada sends three word message to Hoops pal
Brendan Rodgers moved to capture the winger from Aris before the transfer window slammed shut and he made a telling difference alongside Reo Hatate when introduced on the hour for his debut.
Luis Palma posted ‘I dreamed it and I achieved it’ after making his Celtic debut as Liel Abada chipped in with praise.
Brendan Rodgers moved to snap up the winger as a long-awaited replacement for Jota after his big money summer move to the Saudi Pro League with Al-Ittihad. That transfer has turned into a bit of a nightmare for the former Hoops star as they banked a huge fee and reinvested some of the money to snap up Honduras star Palma from Aris. The 23-year-old was named on the bench for the derby win over Rangers at Ibrox before the international break but didn’t feature as he got his big moment at Parkhead.
He made his way on to the pitch on the hour in the 3-0 win over Dundee as he joined the returning Reo Hatate from the bench. The introduction of the duo made a notable difference to the Hoops’ performance as they get ready to face an in-form Feyenoord side in the Champions League tomorrow night in Rotterdam. Both players will hope to have done enough to force themselves into Rodgers’ thinking for a starting position as David Turnbull, Kyogo Furuhashi and Matt O’Riley secured the points for the table toppers.
He posted a picture of himself getting ready to take the field at Parkhead, where he will make his debut, captioning it, “I’m so stoked for my debut and the team’s win. I’ve always dreamed of doing this and I’ve made it happen. It’s gonna keep happening. Thank God.”
Team-mate Abada, currently out for an extended period after suffering a thigh injury on international duty, commented: “Congrats my friend” while fellow Hoops debutant and new colleague Paulo Bernardo also sent his congratulations writing “Crack Hermano” with green and white heart emojis and smiling face with heart-shaped eyes one.
Updating the fans last week after his injury while away with Israel, Abada said: “Unfortunately, I have just received the news that my injury will keep me out of the game for a longer period than expected. I am beginning rehabilitation and will work hard to come back fitter and stronger as fast as I can so I can give my all to help the team achieve our targets.”
