John Rankin has bolstered his attacking options for the trip to Dumfries today
Hamilton Accies have added a striker to their squad ahead of their clash with Queen of the South, after signing Swedish forward Joel Ngebany Mumbongo.
The 24-year-old was on the books at Burnley a couple of years ago and played four times for them in the English Premier League.
He had been on trial at Accies recently and a deal between the players and his representatives was struck over the last few days.
Mumbongo, who has netted twice in 42 appearances in senior football, goes straight into the squad for the League One clash at Palmerston this afternoon, where he starts on the bench.
A club statement read: “The Club are today delighted to announce the signing of Forward, Joel Ngebany Mumbongo.
“Joel joins us on a Permanent Transfer from Tranmere Rovers FC on a one year deal, with an option of a second year for the Club.
“He has played in Sweden, Italy and England and was last with Tranmere Rovers. International clearance arrived from the FA late yesterday afternoon.”
