On Tuesday, Ipswich beat Wolves in their EFL Cup tie despite being 2-0 down until the 28th minute to overturn a 3-2 tie in their favour.

Nydam highlighted that McKenna gave a number of players a start in the match against Wolves and believes Ipswich showed great fighting spirit to win the match after attacking from behind .

The former Blues star also said that Ipswich’s victory over Wolves showed the fighting spirit and playing mentality of the entire team. “To show the fighting spirit they worked hard from the 15th minute to win 3-2 against a Premier League team with players who don’t start from week to week and young players in team, I think they did really well,” Nydam said on BBC Radio Suffolk.

“It shows the spirit and mentality of the whole team right now.”

Ipswich are on a six-match unbeaten run and next face Darren Moore’s Huddersfield Town at the John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday.
