Tierney has always been a consistent performer for the Scotland national team despite his lack of game time at Arsenal over the course of the past 12 months.

But his form will certainly please Steve Clarke ahead of next month’s international double-header against Spain and France.

All being well, Tierney will be in the camp as Scotland officially aims to book their spot in next summer’s European Championships in Germany.

Meanwhile, Chris Sutton has taken a thinly-veiled swipe at Rangers after Abdallah Sima’s opening goal against Livingston.

The Ibrox forward stole the ball from defender Jamie Brandon before curling home in the first half of the Viaplay quarter-final meeting between the clubs.

The goal, though, ignited debate about whether Sima fouled Brandon in the build-up, with some pundits believing it should have been disallowed by VAR.

Willie Collum allowed play to resume following the alleged push before Nick Walsh confirmed the call and did not request a VAR review.
