NEWS FLASH: Ipswich Town goalkeeper gives up on…………
When Christian Walton returns to full fitness, Ipswich Town goalkeeper Vaclav Hladky feels his form will be enough to keep him in the lineup.
Last season, the Czech only appeared in one league game as Town gained promotion.
However, Walton’s foot injury has provided Hladky with an opportunity, as he has only conceded seven goals in nine Championship games this season.
“Obviously, I want to play, and at the moment, I think I deserve to keep playing,” he told BBC Radio Suffolk.
“I work hard every day and try to help the team.”
“I’m not going to lie to you. I’m having a good time. I’ve been giving it my all since the beginning of the season. Not just me, but all 25 players in the team, are in good shape right now.
Hladky produced many superb saves in Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Huddersfield, and Ipswich have the opportunity to retake top spot in the Championship when they host Hull City on Tuesday.
“We never give up and are always confident that we can score.” “We just keep talking about resilience and belief in what we’re doing,” the 32-year-old stated.
“There will be no easy games this season, and we must be prepared to dig in and put in the hard work.”
“As long as we can stay brave and the fans are behind us we can grow together.”
McKenna was happy with his team’s grit, which required an 87th-minute header by Brandon Williams to win.
