A player worth £3 million and a 30-year-old fan favorite: Three Forest players, in our opinion, deserve to have their contracts extended.
Several of the approximately 50 players Nottingham Forest brought in during their comeback to the Premier League last season have contracts expiring this summer.
The Reds must reduce the number of players on their roster; some deserve a new contract at the club, while others need to go in order to clear out salary space.
Here is our list of the three players who, at the conclusion of the 2023–2024 season, ought to receive a new contract offer.
Willy Boly
So far this season, the 32-year-old has the highest average of any player in the Forest group.
His performances have escalated, and his £2.85 million summer transfer from Wolves now appears like a true steal.
Boly’s current contract expires at the end of the current season, and the defender deserves a new contract at City Ground.
Serge Aurier
Aurier led the Reds on several occasions following his contract extension this summer. He even turned in a Man of the Match performance against Sheffield United, picking up two assists.
Although the 30-year-old has been reliable since joining on a free transfer last summer, his contract is up this year.
Although he had a reputation for being impulsive and untrustworthy before he joined the team, he has excelled under head coach Steve Cooper.
The very least he deserves to continue his great tenure at the City Ground is a contract.
Harry Toffolo
Despite facing difficulties in obtaining regular playing time at the City Ground, Toffolo has demonstrated excellent professionalism.
He has never once expressed his displeasure in public about his lack of playing time; instead, he works hard to establish himself as a starter, as he did last Sunday against Brentford.
As a fan, all you can ask for from a player representing your team is that he gives it his all every time he dons the Forest colors.
A new contract is the least he deserves because he is an excellent squad member.
