In January, the club is open to selling to Nottingham Forest. It is possible to get’significantly more’ than in the summer.
VfB Stuttgart cannot rule out the possibility that Nottingham Forest target Serhou Guirassy would leave the club in the January transfer window since it would mean more money for the club.
That’s according to BILD, who cover the player today and believe that Nottingham Forest is one of the clubs that has ‘already kept an eye’ on him.
Guirassy has had an outstanding start to the season, scoring 13 goals in seven games to lead the Bundesliga goalscoring statistics and propel Stuttgart to second place with 18 points from seven games.
It’s an astonishing turnaround for a player who scored 11 goals in 22 league appearances last season, prompting lots of curiosity about his future.
Numerous clubs in Europe are said to be watching his performances and considering a move, especially because the striker has a €20 million release clause that kicks in next summer.
Nottingham Forest were connected with a move during the summer transfer window and have since been attributed with an interest, with it being suggested that they could make a concrete approach in January or later.
BILD continues to suggest that Guirassy’s future is a concern for everyone at Stuttgart, who don’t want to lose him if possible.
They realize that if he continues his current form the €20m fee in the summer would be a bargain for someone and hence a January departure ‘cannot currently be ruled out’.
That’s because, above all, it gives Stuttgart the opportunity to get’significantly more money’ for the striker because his release clause isn’t activated.
In other words, if Nottingham Forest want to make a winter transfer and give more than €20 million, the German club will be more than accommodating, despite the fact that losing Guirassy would be a terrible loss.
