Steelers LB T.J. Watt Suffers Heel Injury.
The Pittsburgh Steelers’ defense is suddenly a serious worry.
PITTSBURGH, — T.J. Watt, a linebacker with the Pittsburgh Steelers, has been placed to the practice report with a heel injury.
Watt was unable to practice on Thursday due to an injury. He had been an active participant the day before. It’s unclear whether the injury occurred during a practice earlier in the week, is lingering from a previous game, or is fresh today.
The Steelers are also battling with a groin issue to outside linebacker Nick Herbig, who has been limited all week.
As of now, Watt’s injury is simply something to monitor, but if it becomes a bigger issue, the team could possibly be down two outside linebackers against the Los Angeles Rams.
Without Watt, Markus Golden would start opposite of Alex Highsmith. Undrafted rookie David Perales would be considered as a call-up from the practice squad if needed.
Outside of Watt and Herbig, the Steelers only other injury was tight end Pat Freiermuth, who was limited due to a lingering hamstring injury.
