Tyson’s Turn, For Better (And Worse)

Tyson’s Turn, For Better (And Worse).Chicago Bears QBs: Tyson Bagent's surge and the PJ Walker problem - Windy City Gridiron

The backup quarterback for the Chicago Bears is the most well-liked person in Chicago, Illinois, and he is going to play in the biggest game of his life.

The Chicago Bears will play the Las Vegas Raiders this weekend, who are best defined as an NFL benchmark:

They have WR Davante Adams and EDGE rusher Maxx Crosby, exactly one (and only one!) superstar on each side of the ball.
Their OL is decent but not outstanding.
Due to an injury, their journeyman veteran starting quarterback will probably be replaced by a journeyman veteran backup quarterback.
Even if they can’t always operate them well, they have a strong foundation of database systems that can handle several coverages.

Bears rookie QB Tyson Bagent explains why he looked so comfortable

Aside from Crosby, their roster leaves a lot to be desired.
Additionally, Josh McDaniels, their head coach, frequently makes odd decisions during games that keep scores closer than they should be.
Although you can’t argue with the Raiders’ ability to pull off victories against the Broncos, Packers, and Patriots, you can’t help but feel that their offense should be more potent given their dynamic skill core of wide receivers Davante Adams, Jakobi Meyers, and Hunter Renfrow, in addition to running back Josh Jacobs.

Although such victories might not seem noteworthy, Chicago’s Bears for 2023 are live evidence that success against those opponents isn’t a given. Being “The Bad Team That Loses To Other Bad Teams” and the Raiders are not the same thing. Although the difference between the two teams may not be great, the Raiders have won games when the Bears have only managed to find losses.

Bears rookie Tyson Bagent will be QB2 'moving forward'

Tyson Bagent intends to change that on Sunday.

The Chicago Bears’ current situation, the players who pleased or disappointed us last Sunday, a sneak peek at this weekend’s dance with Las Vegas, and much more are discussed in the most recent edition of Bear With Us, which Nick and I co-host. Check it out and share your thoughts with me!

Will Tyler Scott play a bigger part in the Bagent offense as well? I sincerely hope so. As the season shifts to training for next season, I’d love to see the youngest wide receiver for the Bears get the reps he needs to develop. Although his footspeed is known, what other moves does he have in a well-thought-out game plan? I hope we get the opportunity to learn.
