Swift changes that were recently made to the Las Vegas Raiders’ coaching staff are one of the many reasons to believe Las Vegas can turn the season around.

Las Vegas replacing McDaniels’ stoic coaching style with a coach who has been in the players’ shoes and can potentially identify with the players better was not an accident.

No. 4 — Raider Nation will be at games and excited again. No one expected the Raiders to go to the Super Bowl this year, but what Raider Nation and those surrounding the organization did expect was a reason to believe this team was headed in the right direction.

The way this season has gone left Raider Nation, one of the most passionate fan bases in all sports, in a state of despair. Owner Mark Davis could indeed feel the pulse of the fan base and the locker room over the last few weeks and decided to make a change.

Davis’ ability to admit the partnership with Coach McDaniels was not working was the first step in Raider Nation returning in full force with excitement.

No. 5 — Next two games are very winnable. Las Vegas’ next two games are against two of the worst teams in the league. On Sunday, they face the New York Giants (2-6) at home, followed by another home game against the New York Jets (4-3).

Both teams have had similar difficulties at their quarterback positions. Statistically, the Giants’ and the Jets’ offenses are last and second-to-last in the NFL in passing yards per game.

The Giants are the only team in the NFL that averages fewer yards per game than the Raiders. New York is one of only two teams in the NFL that average fewer points per game than the Raiders.

The Raiders can win consecutive home games and try to save their season. A new coach, a new offensive coordinator, and new energy around the team are just some of the reasons to be optimistic moving forward.

The Silver and Black will return to Allegiant Stadium to take on the New York Giants on Sunday, Nov. 5, at 4:25 p.m. EST/1:25 p.m. PST.
