Report: Tennessee Titans Plan to Workout Former Steelers WR Martavis Bryant

The Tennessee Titans are always looking for more help, and according to Jordan Schultz, the Titans plan to work out previously suspended wide receiver Martavis Bryant before their Week 10 game.

The Tennessee Titans could use more talent in general, but wide receiver is a position that could benefit from reinforcements after Treylon Burks was injured late against the Steelers. If Burks is unable to play, a former Steeler receiver may be given a chance to fill the void.

The Titans intend to work out Martavis Bryant, according to Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz. The NFL suspended Bryant indefinitely in 2018, but he was reinstated this week.

During his first season in the NFL, Bryant was suspended multiple times for substance abuse. He was suspended for the entire 2016 season and was suspended indefinitely for violating the terms of his previous reinstatement in 2017.

Bryant was drafted by the Steelers in 2014 before being dealt to the Oakland Raiders prior to the 2018 season. The 6-foot-4, 210-pound former Clemson Tiger was productive when he was on the field.

Bryant appeared in 44 games, catching 145 passes for 2,183 yards and 17 touchdowns. While Bryant hasn’t played in an NFL game in nearly five years, he may still have some of the playmaking ability he displayed back then.

Mostly because Bryant did not give up football after the NFL suspended him. During his time away from the NFL, Bryant has played in the Canadian Football League and the XFL. Bryant caught 14 balls for 145 yards in 2022 for the XFL’s Vegas Vipers.

Bryant is scheduled to work out with the Dallas Cowboys first, so the Titans may not get to see him, but if they do, it will be interesting to see if Bryant has anything left in the tank and if he can use it to help the Titans salvage their season.

Bryant is unlikely to be an answer for the Titans, but they would be wise to investigate. With rookie quarterback Will Levis now in the fold, every effort should be made to find him the assistance he requires to succeed.
