Former Steelers WR Chase Claypool Undergoes Knee Surgery
PITTSBURGH — Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Chase Claypool is now considered week-to-week for the Miami Dolphins after undergoing knee surgery during the team’s bye week.
Claypool was traded to the Dolphins prior to the trade deadline after a short stint with the Chicago Bears – who traded with the Steelers for him last season. Since being acquired, he’s logged 29 offensive snaps, being targeted just twice and catching one pass for 15 yards.
As of now, it’s unknown how long Claypool will be sidelined, but he’s set to miss Week 11 for the Dolphins.
For a player on the final year of his rookie deal, this season has been a struggle for Claypool. The 25-year-old has played six games in 2023, and with his surgery making him an uncertainty the next few weeks, it’s a question whether or not he’ll be back on the field at all this season.
