Report: Ohio state coach speaks against michigan`s……

“We have got to stay disciplined enough to focus.”

Rivalry games in college football always bring out strong emotions in players, and that’s especially true of the storied rivalry between the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Michigan Wolverines. But even though it might be difficult, Ohio State head coach Ryan Day wants to make sure his players try to control their emotions in the upcoming contest with Michigan.

There are several things adding a little bit more juice to this game than previous years – Ohio State’s back-to-back losses after dominating the rivalry for nearly two decades as well as the cheating scandal that has seen Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh suspended. Day acknowledges that it won’t be easy to block out all of that, but he thinks it’s necessary for his team.

“I think, not that it’s easy, but the only thing that matters is this game, is this team, is preparing,” Ryan Day said according to On3. “The rest of it doesn’t matter, so that’s what we have to do. We have got to stay disciplined enough to focus on that. And it goes back to the conversation about emotion, letting emotion of the game get in the way. We can’t do that.”

Not only will this be an emotional game for Ohio State, but it will also be a tough one as it’s the first time all season that the Buckeyes are underdogs, entering the contest in Ann Arbor with Michigan favored by 3.5 points. The Buckeyes will need to remain focused and play their best football if they’re going to come out on top.
