The Miami Hurricanes’ Transfer Portal Season Will Be Busy | Donno Mailbag

Donno Mailbag: No, This Miami Hurricanes Season Will Not Be A Lost Cause - All Hurricanes on Sports Illustrated: News, Analysis, and More

The regular season is coming to an end, and before you know it, we’ll be swept away by the transfer portal whirlwind. The portal will be open on December 4th. I anticipate Miami to be active.

Will Rogers of Mississippi State. He’s already stated his desire to leave the Bulldogs, and he’d be an excellent fit at The U. First and foremost, he is knowledgeable and productive. His 12,315 passing yards in his career rank second in SEC history. Rogers, who has one year of eligibility remaining, could be the ideal bridge before the Canes hand the reins over to one of their young signal callers.

Second, Rogers was a member of the late Mike Leach’s air raid offence. He should fit right in with Shannon Dawson, who comes from the same air raid coaching family.

2- Tulane quarterback Mr. Michael Pratt. There have been conflicting reports about him possibly entering the portal, but the idea of Pratt finding a Power Five programme for his final year of eligibility seems reasonable to assume. There’s also a connection to South Florida. Pratt attended Deerfield Beach High School. Returning home may make a lot of sense.

Pratt, like Rogers, brings experience and poise. Every year, he keeps his interception totals in the single digits. He has thrown 21 touchdowns to only four interceptions this season while leading the Green Wave to the AAC Championship game.

3- Texas A&M quarterback Conner Weigman. So far, I haven’t heard any credible reports of him entering the portal. Nobody would be surprised if he left College Station after his head coach was fired midseason. Every single player on the Aggies’ roster will be weighing their options.

Weigman has tremendous potential and the ability to extend plays and run. It would be such a luxury to have a dual threat quarterback. He lacks the experience of the previous options, so Weigman would be an option for both the present and the future. Next year, he will be a redshirt sophomore.
