Backup and special teams player won’t play against Kansas City this afternoon
Las Vegas Raiders backup safety and special teams player Roderic Teamer was reportedly arrested for drunk driving in Las Vegas on Sunday morning, according Las Vegas television stations KLAS-TV.
Teamer was arrested for DUI after being stopped for speeding according to the report. The team announced Sunday that Teamer will not play against the AFC West-leading Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday afternoon. Kickoff is set for 1:25 p.m. PT.
Teamer was activated from the injured reserve Saturday and was set to play Sunday before his arrest. Teamer missed the past five games with a hamstring injury. He played the first six games in a backup role and on special teams.
Teamer, 26, has been with Las Vegas since 2021. He has played 33 games for the Raiders and he has started five games, three in 2022 and two in 2021. If convicted, Teamer could face a short NFL suspension if convicted of the DUI charges.
