Critical Day for Steelers Injured Players
PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers will spend the day monitoring a few key injuries as they finish preparation for Week 14 against the New England Patriots.
The Steelers entered the week with guard Isaac Seumalo (shoulder) and inside linebacker Elandon Roberts (groin) as their headliners on the injury report. On their first estimated practice report, rookie Keeanu Benton (oblique) and center Mason Cole (neck) popped up.
On day two, running back Najee Harris missed practice with a knee injury. And as the team enters their final day of work, all of their key injuries will have a final day to determine their status against the Patriots.
The Steelers will do a full practice today, according to Roberts, who said yesterday was simply a walk-through. Therefore, it was hard to judge the significance of any of the injured players participating. Today will mark the only full practice the team will go through before they take on the Patriots.
If all goes well, the Steelers could have all of their key players on the field and ready to go for Week 14. If it doesn’t, Nate Herbig and Spencer Anderson could be filling two starting roles on the offensive line, while Jaylen Warren starts at running back.
Mykal Walker and Blake Martinez will likely be the two to replace Roberts if he’s not active on gameday.
The Steelers’ final injury report is set to be released around 4 p.m. ET.
