Steelers Get Huge News Ahead of Patriots Game
PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers get a massive boost for Week 14 as they take on the New England Patriots. Despite being listed as questionable with a knee injury, running back Najee Harris is expected to play, according to NFL Network’s Tom Peliserro.
Harris did not practice on the short week after popping up on the injury report with the knee issue. Head coach Mike Tomlin did not list him when discussing injuries coming out of Week 13 against the Arizona Cardinals, but reports claim the injury occurred earlier in the year.
According to Peliserro, this is not a new injury for Harris as he’s been managing the knee issue throughout the season. If this was a normal week, the running back would return to practice today. Instead, he’ll play against the Patriots, barring any setbacks.
“Just didn’t feel great coming out of the game, so they wanted to rest him,” Peliserro said. Harris should still be expected to take on a full workload for the Steelers, but Jaylen Warren could take on more carries if he’s the hot hand. With Harris hurting, the Steelers could ride Warren to take away some of the strain their starter is feeling late in the season. Pittsburgh is still waiting on word about three other starters as Isaac Seumalo, Mason Cole and Elandon Roberts are also listed as questionable.
