Florida State star Officially Out With huge injury. He will definitely miss 2024 season.

Florida State Wing Cam’Ron Fletcher Officially Out With Season-Ending Injury

Quarterback Injury Risks Florida State's Undefeated Season

Fletcher went down during Saturday’s loss to North Carolina.

Florida State’s Cam’Ron Fletcher will be out for the remainder of the season with a knee injury, according to his Instagram page. It’s the second year in a row he’s suffered a season-ending injury to the same knee. Last year it was a torn ACL, Florida State has yet to release an official announcement on the news.

Fletcher released a statement saying that he’s not discouraged and that he’s going to work his way back

“Another season-ending injury… it hasn’t been a full year since I’ve been fully healthy. I’m very thankful for everyone who has had my back through the toughest times of my life. Going through this the first time taught me a lot about myself and has also gotten me closer with God. When things aren’t going my way I still put faith in the man above & pray daily because I know God has something stored for me. Although I haven’t played a full season of college basketball and had 2 back2back injuries I’m not discouraged by it. My path is my path and everybody’s path is different & I really believe I’m HIM and when my time comes ima make the best of it. I’ll be back sooner than later.”

It’s such heartbreaking news coming from a player who worked so hard to get back on the court for this season, coming back quicker than expected, but he was cleared for full contact in October. He tore his ACL last year on December 4, and hurt his knee this year on December 2; 363 days apart. Just brutal.

Heading into that game last season, he was looking like arguably Florida State’s best player. He was rebounding the ball well, was aggressive driving to the basket and looking for his shot. Just a year later he’s had two brutal knee injuries in the same knee.

While we don’t know the extent of the injury yet, normally knee injuries to the same knee within a year after an ACL tear result in more damage and likely a longer recovery.

Fletcher is listed as a senior on the roster, but it was expected he’d apply for a medical redshirt for his injury last season. At the same time, it’s not even certain if he’ll play college basketball again. I believe him when he says he’ll be back and he is a freak athlete, but it’s going to be tough to bounce back once again from an injury to the same leg.

NoleGameday will continue to provide updates on Fletcher as they are necessary.
