Zac Taylor: ‘Joe Burrow is One of the Greatest,’ But We Still Have Great Players
CINCINNATI — Bengals head coach Zac Taylor wasn’t taking any victory laps on Tuesday, even though his team has won back-to-back games with backup quarterback Jake Browning.
He didn’t admit to being vindicated after beating the Jaguars on Monday Night Football and following it up with a home win over the Colts.
Instead, Tyalor made it clear that he thinks the world of Joe Burrow, but knows the Bengals still have plenty of talent on their roster without the former No. 1 overall pick.
“We have a lot of talent on this team. We have a lot of leadership on this team,” Taylor said. “I think Joe Burrow’s one of the greatest players to walk this Earth. But we still do have other great players that can step up and help us win football games.”
The Bengals are 2-1 with Browning at quarterback. Burrow underwent season-ending wrist surgery at the end of last month.
The offensive line has played better and better. The run game has gotten going with Joe Mixon and Chase Brown. The defense shut out the Colts in the second half of Sunday’s game.
