So shocking as Collingwood head coach makes….

Injury Update: Pre-Season

Collingwood’s Head of High-Performance Jarrod Wade has provided an Injury Update following the AFL program’s off-season. The Club’s one to four-year players returned to training on Monday.

Vice-Captain Brayden Maynard underwent shoulder stabilisation surgery in the off-season. The defender is expected to return to full training in February following a 12-week recovery period. Maynard had surgery to his opposite shoulder during last year’s off-season.

Forward Jamie Elliott will follow a modified contact-free training plan before the Christmas break, as he regains strength in his shoulder after undergoing minor surgery to repair ligaments. The 31-year-old is expected to return to a full training load in January.

Captain Darcy Moore, Midfielder Nick Daicos, Ruckman Darcy Cameron and Key Forward Dan McStay all had limitations in the early period of the off-season due to various issues they carried in the back end of the season. All four players are expected to return to full training in January and will be carefully managed through December to ensure they are well prepared for the 2024 season.

In a similar fashion to previous years, Scott Pendlebury, Steele Sidebottom and Jeremy Howe are all working through tailored, individual pre-season programs. The trio will complete some training sessions in December before returning to full training in January.

Collingwood’s five + year players will return to training next Monday, December 4.

Further injury updates will be communicated by the Club in mid-January.
