So shocking: Browns super star injury seems critical to an extend….

Concussion doctor claims Elijah Moore should retire after recent injury

Dr. Bennet Omalu, who specializes in concussions, has claimed that Cleveland Browns wideout Elijah Moore should retire following his head injury on Thursday night.

Moore was at the center of the action in the second quarter when the Browns took on the New York Jets. He had his face slammed into the turf whilst running with the ball.

He seemed to lose consciousness and start convulsing before the medics arrived on the scene to make sure he was okay. He was taken off and spent the night at a local hospital.

Dr Omalu thinks that an incident like this should spell the end of the 23-year-old’s NFL career.

“That is my recommendation,” the famed neuropathologist told TMZ Sports.

“He was having a seizure,” Omalu said Friday. “A seizure is a manifestation of brain damage, brain injury.”

“That is permanent damage.”

It is not yet clear when Moore is expected back on the field as further tests will certainly need to be carried out, but you can bet it will be sooner than Dr Omalu would like.

Omalu also said that if Moore doesn’t retire, he’d at least urge the receiver to sit out the rest of this season, even if that means missing Cleveland’s upcoming playoff run.

“Given what I saw in that video, he should be benched for rest of the season,” Omalu said. “For at least three months.”

Moore is now under the NFL concussion protocol but as is the case in many sports, it is viewed by medical professionals as inadequate.
