The lights will be bright for Marcus Stroman with the New York Yankees, but his former high school coach thinks he’s made for it.

The New York Yankees made an exciting move when they agreed to a two-year, $37 million deal with Marcus Stroman.

He’s been an elite pitcher since he made his debut with the Toronto Blue Jays in 2014, something the Yankees were familiar with, having faced him 17 times in division.

The two-time All-Star got his first taste of playing in New York when he was traded to the New York Mets during the 2019 season. However, he decided to depart for another big city when he signed a two-year, $71 million contract with the Chicago Cubs in 2021.
