Roster Moves: Bears sign Kramer, Kareem to reserve/future contracts
The Bears on Tuesday signed center Doug Kramer Jr. and defensive end Khalid Kareem to reserve/future contracts.
Kramer was selected by the Bears in the sixth round of the 2022 draft out of Illinois. After missing his entire rookie year due to a leg injury, he appeared in two games this season, both as a reserve. In November, Kramer was signed by the Cardinals off the Bears practice squad but was released two weeks later without playing in a game. He then rejoined the Bears.
Kareem appeared in one game this season, recording one tackle and one pass breakup Oct. 29 in a loss to the Chargers in Los Angeles. Kareem joined the Bears in 2023 after spending the previous three seasons with the Bengals (2020-21) and Colts (2022), registering 29 tackles, 1.0 sack and two tackles-for-loss.
The Bears have now signed 15 players to reserve/future contracts, most of whom spent all or part of the 2023 season on their practice squad. Here’s the list:
