Louisville football announces 24 transfer additions to the roster

It’s been quite the few weeks for the University of Louisville football staff.

The Cardinals have added a total of 26 new players since the end of the regular season and on Friday the school officially announced the addition of 24. The announced newcomers have all enrolled in school and will be able to participate in spring football, which will begin in March.

Overall, the transfer portal class is ranked No. 4 in the nation by 247Sports.

U of L coach Jeff Brohm and his staff have added 11 prospect on the defensive side of the ball, while adding 15 on the offensive side of the ball. Louisville largest position group of additions is six on the offensive line, while four safety and three cornerbacks have been added to the roster.

The only two transfers that were not made official by U of L were defensive lineman Thor Griffith, who will graduate from Harvard this semester and enroll in June, and tight end Mark Redman, who will also arrive in June after graduating from San Diego State.

On the line, the additions have been Yale’s Jonathan Mendoza, Northern Illinois’ Pete Nygra, Ohio State’s Victor Cutler, Texas Tech’s Monroe Mills, Houston’s Reuben Unije, and Georgia Southern’s Rasheed Miller.

The highest-ranked transfer prospect is Tennessee edge rusher Tyler Baron, who was one of the latest additions on Jan. 16, while Griffith and Florida International’s Jordan Guerad are other defensive line additions.
