Browns hunt for an offensive coordinator continues

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – The Browns are moving closer to hiring an offensive coordinator, but need to act soon with all of their candidates gaining interest from other teams.

The team is expected to interview Los Angeles Chargers offensive coordinator Kellen Moore on Friday. The Chargers announced on Wednesday that they hired Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh to replace Brandon Staley who was fired on December 15. Harbaugh is expected to bring in his own staff including an offensive coordinator, making Moore available to shop around.

In addition to the Browns, reports also say that Moore has an with the Buccaneers on Monday and spoke with the Eagles on Thursday.

The Browns have already conducted interviews with Seahawks offensive line coach Andy Dickerson and former Browns quarterback Ken Dorsey who was the offensive coordinator in Buffalo for a season and a half before he was fired.

Houston Texans quarterbacks coach Jerrod Johnson has been endorsed by Deshaun Watson’s personal quarterback coach Qunicy Avery, he’s been credited with rookie C.J. Stroud’s incredible growth this season. Johnson has also completed interviews with the Saints, Eagles and Steelers for the same position.

The Browns have also interviewed former Eagles offensive coordinator Brian Johnson. Johnson interviewed with the team on Thursday, and next will meet with the Buccaneers followed by the Saints to interview for the same position.
