Former Michigan Football Star Dealt At NFL Trade Deadline
The Detroit Lions were buyers at Tuesday’s NFL trade deadline. The Lions traded for Cleveland Browns’ WR Donovan Peoples-Jones.
Peoples-Jones practically played his football career in the state of Michigan. He played high school football at Cass Tech (Michigan) and then went on and played a big role at the University of Michigan as a five-star WR.
The speedy receiver was drafted in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL draft by the Browns. In the three full seasons, he has been in the league, People-Jones has caught 117 passes for 1,837 yards and eight touchdowns. He also has been an effective returner returning one punt back for a touchdown a season ago.
With the departure of Marvin Jones, Peoples-Jones figures to make an impact and a solid depth piece with the Lions.
Peoples-Jones played at Michigan from 2017-2019. He was a two-time All-Big Ten honoree and was a freshman All-American as a punt returner. As a WR, he caught 103 passes for 1,327 yards and 14 touchdowns.
