Could Ravens Find Geno Stone Replacement In Ex Bears Safety Eddie Jackson?

The Baltimore Ravens are facing a crucial offseason with a number of pending free agents that they won’t be able to afford to keep. One of those is safety Geno Stone.

Stone led the AFC last season with seven picks and was a critical piece of defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald’s unit that led the league in a number of statistical categories. At age 24, Stone will be looking for a big payday with his next contract, and the Ravens most likely can’t afford his asking price.

One possible replacement for Stone could be Eddie Jackson, who was just cut from the Bears roster and would come at a much more economical price than Stone.

Jackson appeared in 12 games and tallied one interception and 37 total tackles with 32 solo. He’s not the player he was when he went to back-to-back Pro Bowls in 2018 and 2019 while earning first-team All-Pro honors in 2018, but he’s more than serviceable for the role he would play in Baltimore.

The Alabama Crimson Tide product has missed 13 games over the past three seasons due to injury, but if he can remain healthy for stretches with the Ravens, he could be a great complimentary player in Zach Orr’s defense in 2024.
