One former New York Yankee is still available in free agency. Since the 2023 season ended, there has been a lot of conjecture surrounding former Yankees pitcher Jordan Montgomery. Montgomery helped the Texas Rangers win the World Series after being traded from the St. Louis Cardinals. Since he became a free agent, he has been searching for a new place to call home, but he hasn’t been successful in closing a contract. Jim Bowden of The Athletic reports that while New York has surfaced as a potential destination, Montgomery doesn’t appear to be interested in getting back together just yet.

In the rotation, New York could still need a little assistance. At this point, Blake Snell and the Yankees have even been connected on few occasions.
