Packers announce trade with Rams
The Green Bay Packers have traded a 2023 sixth-round draft pick to the Los Angeles Rams for P Corey Bojorquez and a 2023 seventh-round draft pick. General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced the transaction Saturday.
Bojorquez (buh-HOR-kez) is a 6-foot, 217-pound, fourth-year player out of the University of New Mexico. He originally signed with the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent in 2018. After being released following training camp, Bojorquez was claimed off waivers by the Buffalo Bills. Over three seasons (2018-20), he played in 40 regular-season games for the Bills and averaged 45.0 yards (39.7 net avg.) on 165 punts with a long of 72 yards and 74 punts landing inside the 20-yard line. In 2020, Bojorquez led the NFL with a gross punting average of 50.8 yards, which also set the Bills’ single-season franchise record. He set a team single-season mark for Buffalo in 2019 with 34 punts placed inside the 20-yard line (tied for No. 3 in the NFL). Bojorquez also appeared in four postseason contests, punting 15 times for an average of 44.1 yards (39.8 net avg.) with a long of 58 yards and six punts landing inside the 20-yard line. In 2021, he signed with the Rams and punted seven times in the preseason, averaging 51.9 yards (51.9 net avg.) with a long of 70 yards and four punts landing inside the 20-yard line.
