Bengals Sign Nick Scott
The Bengals today signed unrestricted free agent S Nick Scott to a three-year contract through the 2025 season.
Scott (5-11, 200), a fifth-year player out of Penn State University, originally was a seventh-round pick of the Los Angeles Rams in 2019. He spent each of his first four NFL seasons with the Rams and played in 64 games (17 starts), recording 140 tackles, four INTs, nine PDs and two FFs. Scott has also played in six postseason games, including four starts following the 2021 season to help the Rams win Super Bowl LVI.
The Bengals today released S Nick Scott.
Scott, a sixth-year player, joined the Bengals as an unrestricted free agent during the 2023 offseason. He played in all 17 games for Cincinnati in 2023 (10 starts), totaling 56 tackles and one FR.
As expected, the Cincinnati Bengals will move on from veteran safety Nick Scott in the wake of signing Geno Stone.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter first reported the news.
Scott signed with the Bengals last offseason as the team looked for veteran help after the departures of Jessie Bates and Vonn Bell. But he played just 52 percent of the snaps over 17 games, eventually losing time to rookie Jordan Battle.
The Bengals just agreed to sign Stone this week to start and/or rotate with Battle and former first-rounder Dax Hill. Depth remains an issue, but Scott’s release clears $2.3 million against the cap.
